WASHINGTON, Nov 3: The Pentagon said on Saturday an unmanned spy plane had crashed in Afghanistan, but it had no plans to recover it. The statement came shortly after the crash of a special forces helicopter.

Defence officials denied claims by the Taliban that they shot down both aircraft, saying the first onslaught of the harsh Afghan winter apparently downed the helicopter and the 3.2 million dollars remote-controlled Predator drone late on Friday night.—Reuters
