Waqas destroys Sui Gas

KARACHI, Oct 29: Waqas Ahmed, a gangling 22-year-old medium-fast bowler, claimed a match haul of 11 for 97 as Wapda pulled off a sensational six-run victory over Sui Gas in the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I clash at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad Monday.

Sui Gas, who needed 120 for their first win, were bundled out for 113 after starting the third morning at 40 for three in their second innings, according to details available here.

Waqas was the chief destroyer Monday as he picked up four wickets for 32 runs in 16 overs to end with superb analysis of six for 44. He took five for 53 in Sui Gas’ first innings.

Wapda’s third win of the season lift them into third spot on the table behind National Bank and Pakistan Customs with 36 points.
