BAHAWALPUR, April 28: A lady health visitor (LHV) was found dead in mysterious circumstances in an ASI’s room at Ahmedpur East police station on Thursday. Reports said residents of Pulwala locality handed over Tasleem Bibi, mother of two children, and her alleged lover Ashiq to ASI Muhammed Ashraf who locked the woman at his room on Wednesday night and detained the man separately.

Police said her body was allegedly found hanged with a rope in the room on Thursday morning. Her body was sent to Bahawal Victoria Hospital for autopsy.

Meanwhile, District Police Officer Arif Nawaz has suspended Ahmedpur East SHO Akhtar Shah and ordered an inquiry in this regard.
