PESHAWAR, June 4: Awami National Party Information Secretary Haji Mohammad Adeel said on Tuesday that the government should prepare budget only for the first four months of the next financial year.

In a statement issued here, the ANP leader pointed out that under articles 86 and 126 of the Constitution, the caretaker government could not announce budget for the whole year.

Therefore, he proposed, the government should present the budget for four months.

He said that after the general elections, scheduled to be held in October, the new government should pass the budget for the remaining three quarters.

He said the government should act according to the Constitution.

The ANP leader said that the Election Commission should hold polls for national and provincial assemblies on the same day on party basis.
