ISLAMABAD, Nov 27: The Privatization Commission has invited Expressions of Interest (EOIs) by December 10, 2004 from interested parties for the sale of machinery of Bolan Textile Mills , a project of Iran-Pakistan Industries (Pvt) Ltd (IPI) situated at Baleli District Quetta.
According to an official handout the machinery of Bolan Textile Mills (spinning, weaving, processing and auxiliaries) is being offered on "as-is-where-is" basis through a competitive process.
The machinery is a part of fully integrated unit of 50,000 spindles,1,100 looms with complete dyeing and finishing facilities of around 80,000 metres per day production capacity of variable widths ranging from 36" to 96". The plant was set up in 1983 and started production in January 1980 but was closed down in 1983 and as such the machinery has been barely used but well maintained.
The machinery has been divided into lots to facilitate privatization. The list of the machinery for sale will be available free of cost from the officers of Privatization Commission, Islamabad and Iran Pakistan Industries (Pvt) Limited PIDC, Karachi from December 10, 2004 while the bidding documents for the sale of machinery lots would be made available with effect from December 13,2004 only to the parties submitting EOIs with the required non-refundable processing fee.
