MIRPURKHAS, Nov 18: People's Party Parliamentarians MNA Nawab Mohammad Yousuf Talpur has said that his party would never compromise on uniform and Kalabagh dam issues as they were directly related to security and integrity of the country.

Speaking to a delegation of party workers at his native village, Manjhakar, on Thursday, he said that the party would launch struggle against the president's uniform.

He said that nobody could violate the Constitution and that no politician will support President Gen Pervez Musharraf on his uniform but opportunist elements have welcomed unconstitutional grabbing of powers by the president.

He said that his party would, however, not accept status quo and it would take the issue in the streets if it was not decided according to the Constitution. He said that the Kalabagh dam was still controversial as it hits at very integrity of the country and three provinces have already rejected it through their assemblies.

About the Sindh government's proposal for holding local bodies' elections on the non-party basis, he said that some politicians want to grab local bodies seats through hand-picked administrators but the PPP would not allow it.He, however, said that the PPP would not give free hand to opportunists and would field candidates on each and every seat.
