KARACHI, Nov 8: Sindh chief secretary Mohammad Aslam Sanjrani on Monday asked the concerned departments to complete all development schemes, specially the mega projects expeditiously.
He stated this while presiding over a high-level meeting which reviewed the progress in respect of various mega projects like K-III 100 mgd water supply project, Right Bank Outfall Drain, Lyari Expressway, Infrastructure Development in Thar area and Jacobabad Water Supply Scheme.
At the meeting, a three-member committee, headed by ACS (Development) was set up with senior member board of revenue and secretary of irrigation as members.
The team will regularly monitor the implementation of RBOD and get the bottlenecks removed with coordinated efforts through all the departments.
The KWSB managing director, Brig Iftikhar Hyder, informed the meeting that he would submit PC-1 for extending K-III project. The discussion also covered the water treatment plant.
The meeting decided that the Secretary of irrigation, in collaboration with the secretary of finance would ensure timely release of funds from the AG Sindh and federal finance ministry.
Mr Shafiqur-Rahman Paracha, project director of the Lyari Expressway informed that 75 per cent work would be completed by Dec 31. On his request, the chief secretary consented to visit the site on Nov 11.
The meeting was attended by additional chief secretary (development) Ghulam Sarwar Khero, ACS local government, Mohammad Saleem Khan, senior member board of revenue, Mirza Karim Baig, secretary (GA&C) Aijaz Hussain Kazi, secretary of irrigation Ashfaq Memon, secretary of mines Abdul Hameed Akhund and other senior officers.-APP
