QUETTA, Nov 7: At least four people were killed in a gun battle between two clans of the Magsi tribe in Jhal Magsi area on Sunday.

A Jhal Magsi district administration official said three people had been arrested in connection with the clash between the Marzani and Chandrani clans.

Mohammad Akbar, Manzoor Ahmed, Khamisa Khan and Jan Mohammad were killed in the exchange of fire.

"Both the groups used heavy automatic weapons," sources said. Three men, Saeed Khan, Yar Mohammad and Mor Khan, were arrested for their involvement in the clash. The levies seized heavy weapons from them.

A number of people have died in clashes between the clans.

The local administration has deployed a heavy contingent of law-enforcement personnel to avert further clashes between the groups but tension prevails in the area.
