HYDERABAD, Nov 7: The University of Sindh held a test for admission to the academic session of 2005 under the bachelor's (honours) programme at the Elsa Kazi campus here on Sunday.
The test was conducted by the Centre for Testing and Employment. It was held in two shifts, the first beginning at 9am and the second at 12 noon.
A total of 7,297 candidates appeared in the test for admission to various disciplines of six faculties. The university has witnessed an 85 per cent increase in applicants for its bachelor's (honours) programme during two academic sessions.
Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, accompanied by members of the senate, syndicate and the deans committee of the university, monitored arrangements for the test.
The result of the test would be displayed on the university website, www.usindh.edu.pk, on Monday.
MERTI LIST: The University of Sindh on Sunday displayed the first merit list of candida-tes selected for admission to master's degree programmes for the academic session of 2005.
The merit list was also displayed on the university website www.usindh.edu.pk, and notice boards of the Sindh University Model School, Hyderabad, and the directorate of admissions, Jamshoro.
The selected candidates have been advised to deposit their admission fee at the Habib Bank Limited, Jamshoro branch by Nov 20.
LUMHS: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, on Saturday announced that third professional MBBS (old course) biannual examinations would commence from Nov 22.
