QUETTA, Nov 6: Hundreds of Afghan refugees attacked and set on fire a hospital and a school run by an American NGO in Girdi Jangle refugee camp in Chagai district, officials said on Saturday.
Sources said a bag of damaged Holy Quran was found in a Nulla on Friday, causing provocation among the refugees who protested against the desecration of the Holy Quran. The sources said that after Jumma prayers hundreds of angry refugees gathered in the camp and were addressed by the Afghan Ulema. They accused the foreign NGOs of the desecration of Holy Quran.
The angry refugees attacked a hospital run by an American NGO, Save the Children, and set it on fire.
"The building of the hospital, medicines and all equipment were burnt down completely," official sources in Dalbandin confirmed to Dawn over telephone.
