LAHORE: Rs3.9 million for sports complex at Mochi Gate
LAHORE, Nov 6: The Parks and Horticulture Authority will develop the historical public meetings' venue outside Mochi Gate into a sports-cum-recreational complex at a cost of Rs3.9 million without changing its character.
Briefing Chief Secretary Kamran Rasool about the plan at a meeting here on Saturday, the PHA officials said the proposed complex would spread over three-acre area. Two acres adjacent to the existing one-acre public meetings' venue would be annexed to it for developing the complex.
The chief secretary was further informed that a night cricket ground was proposed to be developed at the venue after installation of flood lights. The stage of the meetings' venue would be improved and a jogging track would also be provided in the recreational park for the Walled City residents..
The meeting was attended by the Planning and Development chairman, provincial finance, housing and forest secretaries, District Coordination Officer Khalid Sultan and PHA Director-General Shabbir Ahmed.
