PESHAWAR, June 3: The staff of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees have shifted their families to their native countries.
Some six UNHCR employees on Sunday sent their dependents to Islamabad en route to their home countries, an official of the refugee agency confirmed on Monday. The UN has announced that it will pull out its staff from Pakistan and India due to fear of war in the region.
He said that the prevailing situation would not affect the ongoing voluntary repatriation process of displaced Afghans.—Bureau
