PESHAWAR: Prefixes of 13 phone exchanges changed

PESHAWAR, Nov 2: The PTCL's Northern Telecommunication Region-I has changed the prefixes of 13 telephone exchanges in the provincial capital and adjoining areas.

The NTR-I said in a press release issued on Tuesday that the old prefixes would work in parallel with the new ones for three months so that the customers might not lose their calls.

The digit 2 has been added to the numbers of Peshawar City-II exchange starting from 21 and 22. For example, telephone No.216060 has been changed to 2216060.

The digit 0 had been added after the first digit of the telephone numbers of Charsadda Road exchange, starting from prefix 240, 241, 242, 243 and 249. The number 241662 had been changed to 2041662, it said.

The digit 5 has been added to the prefix of Peshawar cantonment telephone numbers starting from 27, 284, 285, 286 and 287. For example, the number 270988 has been converted into 5270988.

The digit 7 has been added after the second digit of the numbers of Shamshatoo area, starting from 236. For example, the number 236111 has been changed into 2376111.

The fourth digit of numbers of Charpareza, starting from 2233 has been removed and 5 added in the start. For example, the number 2233111 has been changed into 5223111.

The digit 2 has been removed from telephone numbers of Gul Bela and Mashokhel starting from 239 and 233, and the digits 53 added. For example, number 233111 has been converted into 5333111.

The digit 5 has been added to the telephone numbers of Shaggi Bala and Zangali starting from 226 and 288.

The digit 6 has been added to the numbers of Deri Sikandar Khan starting from 2255 and the fourth digit 5 has been removed.

The digit 6 has been added to the numbers of Naguman starting from 224 and those of the Shabqadar exchange starting from 281, 282, 289 and 290.
