Mian Sharif's death condoled

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30: Pakistan People's Party Chairperson Benazir Bhutto has condoled with the PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif on the death of his father, Mian Mohammad Sharif, who passed away in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday.

According to PPP media cell, Ms Bhutto phoned Mian Nawaz Sharif in Jeddah on Saturday evening to condole the death of his father.

Meanwhile, the PPP chairperson, in a condolence letter, said: "Please accept deep condolences on behalf of the PPP and convey the same to other members of the bereaved family.

She prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the family members to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.

Ms Bhutto also expressed her shock when told that neither Nawaz Sharif nor Shahbaz Sharif had been allowed by the military regime to visit Pakistan to participate in the last rites of their father.

Meanwhile, ARD Chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim has also condoled the death of Mian Mohammad Sharif.

The ARD chairman, in a condolence message, said he was saddened by the news of Mian Sharif's death.

"The loss of a parent is a great tragedy. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and convey the same to other members of your bereaved family."

MUSHAHID HUSSAIN: Pakistan Muslim League Secretary- General Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, in his condolence message, said Mian Mohammad Sharif was a renowned industrialist and a prominent social figure of the country who always worked untiringly. Services rendered by Mian Sharif will be remembered for long, he added.

KASURI: Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has also conveyed his heartfelt condolences and deep sympathies to members of the bereaved family.

Similarly, Special Committee of the Parliament on Kashmir Chairman Hamid Nasir Chattha, in his separate messages to Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif, prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
