KASUR, Oct 25: The district government has decided to include education sector and electrification of villages in the uplift schemes to be started under citizen community boards (CCBs).

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting, headed by DCO Hashim Tareen, here on Monday.

The meeting was attended by EDO (community development) Mirza Naseer Inayat and office-bearers of different NGOs.

The meeting directed all the NGOs to submit their projects about education and villages' electrification to the district government at the earliest.

The DCO said the district government had sufficient funds for the CCBs schemes and urged the NGOs to prepare their development schemes based on durability, exact estimation and maximum beneficiaries so that transparent utilization of funds could be ensured.

According to the new policy, the NGOs will submit their projects in various sectors, including agriculture, health, education, community development and village electrification under CCBs in future. The NGOs will contribute 20 per cent to the project while the district government will provide 80 per cent amount.

KILLED: One person was killed and another injured in a road accident near Old Mandi, Pattoki, on Monday.

Ishaq along with his brother, Abdul Razzaq, and friend Ashfaq was going to Pattoki when a speedy wagon coming from the opposite side collided with their car near Old Mandi. Ishaq died on the spot, while Ashfaq sustained serious injuries and was taken to a Pattoki hospital from where he was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital, Lahore.
