PESHAWAR, Oct 25: The Peshawar High Court on Monday granted bail to a woman in a murder case against sureties of Rs400,000. A single-judge bench of Justice Tariq Pervez directed that Ms Rajmeena be released against two sureties of Rs200,000 each.

The petitioner, a mother of four, is being tried on the charge of killing Mohammad Ibraheem Khan, whose body was recovered from a graveyard, according to the FIR the East Cantt Police Station had registered.

Five days after the incident, the brother of late Mohammad Ibraheem Khan, Rasheed Gul, approached the police and accused the woman of having murdered his brother.

Mr Gul told the police that his brother, a jeweller, had made some jewellery for Ms Rajmeena and was demanding money from her for those items.

The woman's mother had also suspected her daughter of having killed the man, according to the police.

Habib Qureshi and Malik Ijaz, who appeared for the woman, contended that their client had been falsely implicated in the case.

They said that their client was neither charged in the FIR nor was there any eye-witness to the crime.

They also pointed out the delay between the time the murder took place and the time their client was charged.

The motive for the murder was not clear either, the defence lawyers said.
