ISLAMABAD, Oct 19: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui on Tuesday reserved his verdict in a suo motu case concerning detention of senior advocate Habib Wahabul Khairi.
Wahabul Khairi and Magistrate Section 30 Rawalpindi Nasir Javed Rana on Tuesday appeared before the chief justice at his chambers to register statements regarding the presence of Mr Khairi before the magistrate at the time of granting a 10-day remand.
The chief justice, however, concluded the proceedings after hearing their final arguments.
During the last hearing, Mr Khairi and 10 other people had filed affidavits to counter the affidavit of the magistrate which suggested that Mr Khairi was produced before him while seeking remand. Mr Khairi had also requested the chief justice to form a full bench to hear the case of his detention in an open court.
