LAHORE, Sept 11: The Kashmir Action Committee, Pakistan, has expressed its grave concern at India's deliberate attempt to avoid any meaningful dialogues on Kashmir issue at the conference of foreign ministers of Pakistan and India held at New Delhi this week.

A resolution adopted at a KACP working committee meeting with its president Dr Muzaffar Shah in the chair on Friday night said the delay in resolving the issue had caused great resentment among Kashmiris.

It observed that the issue of Kashmiris' rights to self-determination was left out of discussion and the question of gross and persistent human rights violation did not receive any attention although about 10 to 15 Kashmiris were killed daily and properly worth millions destroyed. India had been avoiding serious discussion on the issue. It emphasized that there could be no solution to disputes between India and Pakistan and trust and close relationship could not be established without a just and fair solution of the Kashmir issue.

The committee deplored that while confidence building measures were in full swing, India was busy fencing the LoC. Equally regretful was Pakistan's silence on the issue, it added.

The resolution, however, congratulated Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri for handling the issue at the conference by emphasizing the centrality of the issue.

The KACP urged both Pakistan and India to include Kashmiris from both sides in the peace process and extend the scope of confidence building process to Kashmir which was the cause of tension in the region. The present dialogue process would remain inconclusive without participation of Kashmiris.
