RAWALPINDI, June 2: About 150 shopkeepers of cloth markets in Raja Bazaar staged a demonstration against blockade of a street linking the two markets by the Auqaf Department on Sunday.

The shopkeepers, led by Mian Hamid, blocked the traffic on Raja Bazaar Road and set fire to tyres and demanded removal of barbed wires from the street.

The district administration officials reached there and held talks with the protesters, who dispersed peacefully and traffic was restored by the police.
