PESHAWAR: Crackdown launched

PESHAWAR, Aug 21: The political administration of the Orakzai Agency has launched a crackdown against Mamozai tribe for creating dispute over land during which heavy weapons were used by rival tribesmen.

Dozens of tribesmen of the Mamozai tribe have been arrested, reports from Hangu district said.

The political administration has also suspended all incentives to the tribe and decided to continue operation till the responsible tribesmen hand over heavy weapons and submit penalty imposed on them.

Tribesmen of Mamozai tribe had altercation among themselves over ownership of a road, namely Satra Gadah.

The dispute cropped up and the opposing tribesmen used heavy weapons against each other.

On Friday, the administration started operation and has arrested 12 tribesmen to the day.

Economic blockade has also been imposed against the two feuding groups.-APP
