ISLAMABAD, July 24: The Central Board of Revenue has revised the rates of duty drawback on export of goods made of 100 per cent cotton. The new rates will be applicable from July 24, 2004, said a customs notification issued on Saturday.
According to the notification, the new rate of duty will be 0.007 per cent of the fob value on grey fabrics made of 100 per cent cotton; 0.99 per cent of the fob value on grey readymade garments made of 100 per cent cotton; and 0.30 per cent of the fob value on grey made-ups - bedwear, curtain, table linen, etc., - made of 100 per cent cotton.
The rate will be 0.51 per cent of the fob value on bleached fabrics made of 100 per cent cotton; 1.45 per cent of the fob value on bleached readymade garments made of 100 per cent cotton; and 0.61 per cent of the fob value on bleached made-ups i.e. bedwear, curtain, table linen, etc., made of 100 per cent cotton.
The duty drawback will be 0.91 per cent of the fob value on dyed or screen printed fabrics, tapestry fabrics, made of 100 per cent cotton; 1.10 per cent of the fob value on printed 100 per cent cotton fabrics; 1.68 per cent of the fob value on dyed or printed readymade garments made of 100 per cent cotton; 1.42 per cent of the fob value on dyed or printed madeups i.e. bedwear, curtain, table linen, etc., made of 100 per cent cotton; 0.88 per cent of the fob value on partially-dyed or partially-printed fabrics, garments and madeups, made of 100 per cent cotton; 0.60 per cent of the fob value on cotton towel bleached (full white); 1.07 per cent of the fob value on cotton towel partly-dyed or printed; and 1.39 per cent of the fob value on cotton towel fully-dyed or printed.
The towels include: terry towels, terry woven bath-mats, terry ahram towels, terry hand towels, terry bar mops, bathrobe, terry face towels, terry shop towels, terry dish towels, terry kitchen towels, terry gloves, terry pillows cover, terry cover lets, terry garments and fabrics, terry over-locked towels, terry institutional towels and terry massage towels; and the word terry means pile fabrics with the loops uncut.
