DERA GHAZI KHAN, May 29: The government has been ripped to shreds for withdrawing its moral and political support for Kashmiris.
Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, Punjab's Jamaat-i-Islami Amir and MNA Liaquat Baloch said that we would however continue our struggle against the imperialism. Earlier, the JI leader also addressed the local district bar.
He said that General Musharraf had lost his favour in military as well which was not a good omen for him.
The restoration of membership of Pakistan in the Common Wealth with the condition that General Musharraf would put off his uniform in time was also an alarming situation for him. The whole system would collapse, if he did not put off his uniform.
About the appointment of Maulana Fazlur Rehman as an opposition leader, Mr Baloch criticized the stance of the ARD. He said the MMA had contested election under one banner, but the component parties of ARD had contested individually. Therefore, he claimed that being the largest group and party in the NA and Senate, it was the right of the MMA to lead the opposition.
He said the Jamaat-i-Islami would convene a meeting of all political parties in the near future to create consensus between ARD and MMA against the present regime.
About the change of political scenario in India after election, the JI leader said the foreign policy of India would not change.
Recalling the killing of 10 JI workers in byelection in Karachi, he strongly criticized the government for providing MQM the licence to kill its opponents.
" There is a possibility that the PML-N may develop alliance with the MMA because of its right wing orientation", he added.
