BADIN: Son kills father

BADIN, April 10: An old man was shot dead by his son in Mitho Chandio village near Tando Ghulam Ali some 70 kilometres off here on Friday.

Koral Chandio, 60, had called a meeting of his family members to distribute his property among them. But his son Ramzan Chandio did not accept the decision, alleging preferential treatment to his step brothers from Mr Koral's two other wives.

He demanded more share from lands but his request was turned down. On this he shot his father dead and fled.

COMMUNITY BOARDS: Some 83 Citizen Community Boards have been constituted in the district to supervise the development works. This was informed in a meeting of district citizen community board held under the chairmanship of Malik Fazil here on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by District Nazim Kamal Chang, DCO Mumtaz Shah, Naib Nazim Mirza Sohail Akbar, officers and 78 members of CCBs.

The meeting was told that the people were taking keen interest in getting their areas developed through formation of such boards, therefore, some 83 CCBs had been constituted in 43 union councils of the district while registration process continued in six union councils of Matli.
