Wasim granted protective bail

KARACHI, April 2: Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram on Friday was granted protective bail till April 21 by Justice Zawawar Hussain Jafarie of High Court of Sindh.

Wasim was directed to furnish surety of Rs 1 lac.

Earlier, ADJ, South, Syed Saeed Hasan on Thursday refused to confirm interim bail granted to the Wasim in a criminal breach of trust case filed by complainant Saadat Hayat Khan.

According to the complaint the accused borrowed his jeep and later misappropriated it. He neither returned the vehicle nor made a payment for it since 2002.

Wasim, however, claimed that he was gifted the jeep by the complainant.-APP
