Singapore's Devadas named director

LAHORE, April 2: International Hockey Federation (FIH) has appointed Mathavan Devadas of Singapore tournament director of the 5th Junior Asia Cup to be held at Karachi from April 20 to 29.

The competition is also the regional qualifying round of Junior World Cup to be played in the Netherlands next year.

The FIH also named three technical officers, Saleem Nazim (Pakistan), Sun Cheng Min (China) and Koshiko Ryuichi (Japan).

A.S Bawa (India) has been named as umpire's manager. Gruson Matthieu (France) and Servetto Marcolo (Spain) are two neutral umpires.

Umpires: Latifur Rahman (Bangladesh), Chen Dekang (China), Hsu Wen-yi (Chinese Taipei), Bhupinder Singh (India), Satoshi Kondo (Japan), Woo Jong Oh (South Korea), Sagayanathan Ambrose (Malaysia), Zulfiqar Haider, Mohsin Ali Khan (Pakistan), G. Ramatas (Singapore), Mahesh Abeywickrama (Sri Lanka).

Judges: Mirza Farid Ahmed (Bangladesh), Jin Baolin (China), Chiu Cheng-feng (Chinese Taipei), C.P Abdul Rashid (India), Major Fizal Muhammad (Malaysia), Abdullah Ali Talaat (Pakistan), Rana Mujahid Ali (Pakistan), Gnastubramaram (Singapore), M.F Laheer (Sri Lanka).
