SHIKARPUR, March 6: The Primary Teachers Association staged protest demonstrations across Sindh for the acceptance of their charter of demands.

A protest procession was taken out by primary teachers here on Saturday to protest against the attitude of the education department.

The procession started from the Lakhi Gate boys primary schools and after marching on the main thoroughfares, culminated outside the press club where the participants staged a demonstration.

Speaking on the occasion, Akram Abro, Ghous Junejo, Mumtaz Sheikh, Agha Riaz, Fatah Mahar and others demanded that their charter of demands should be accepted.

Earlier, an emergent meeting was also held in the Lakhi Gate primary school where teachers finalized the programme to observe a hunger strike in Shikarpur from March 8 to 13 and participate in a protest rally in Islamabad as announced by their central leadership to press the government for acceptance of their demands.

DADU: Primary school teachers of the district boycotted their classes on Saturday to protest against the non-acceptance of their legal demands.

They took out a protest procession in Dadu town and staged a demonstration outside the press club.

They were led by the taluka PTA president Rehman Panhwar and president PTA Dadu town, Qayoom Memon.

Speaking on the occasion, leaders warned that if the government did not accept their demands, they would continue their struggle.

KHAIRPUR: Primary teachers took out a protest procession from Phool Bagh Khairpur for acceptance of their demands.

The participants marched through the Panj Gulla, Chatti chowk and the mall road and reached at Kutchehry road and blocked it for about one hour.

The rally culminated at press club Khairpur.

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: On the call of PTA, about 500 primary teachers staged a protest rally in Kandiaro on Saturday for the acceptance of their demands.

Speaking on the occasion, Deedar Solangi, Syed Asif Shah and others complained that the charter of demands was presented to the Sindh education minister and but no action had been taken as yet.

They demanded quota for teachers' children in jobs, and seniority and move-over without any delay.
