KARACHI, Feb 14: The trussed up body of a man was found in Sachal police limits. Police said that the body was dumped in bushes near Mehran bungalows cooperative housing society. The man's hand and legs were tied up and a noose round his neck was found, which suggested he was strangled.

The body was taken to a hospital for autopsy, where its identity could not be established immediately. It was later kept at Edhi morgue for identification.

WOUNDED: A man and his wife were shot at and wounded during a robbery near Zainab Market in the rush hours on Saturday evening.

Police said that Azam Ansari, 45, and his wife Neelofar, 40, along with their 11-year-old son, went first to a money changer to exchange 26,000 Saudi Riyals. Later, on their way to Zainab Market, on Abdullah Haroon Road, two robbers intercepted them and snatched the cash. The couple tried to put up resistance and the robbers opened fire at them and fled.

The wounded were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors said Azam suffered a bullet wound in his hand and Neelofar in her chest. The condition of the woman was stated to be serious. Their son, however, escaped unhurt. Azam Ansari, working as a laboratory technician in Saudia Arabia, had returned in the last week of November to the city.

ACCIDENT: A youth was run over by a train in Baloch Colony.

Police said Ashraf Jamil, 22, was crossing the railway tracks, when he was hit by a train.
