SHIKARPUR, Jan 17: Six bandits were arrested and a police constable was injured in an encounter between bandits and the police in the jurisdiction of Hamayoon police station on Saturday.
The police acted after an information that some people from Larkana district were held in captivity in the Toti Marfani village. When the police reached near the village the outlaws opened fire. The police also fired in return.
Police constable Asghar Awan of the Garhi Yasin police received bullet injuries. However, police succeeded to arrest six bandits identified as Naz Marfani, Ali Hassan Marfani, Sher Mohammad Marfani, Saleem Marfani, Siddique Chandio and Hizbullah Bhayo.
INJURED: Four people were injured when a group of 10 Jafri clansmen attacked the Mohammad Yaqoob Brohi village, near Shikarpur, on Saturday.Those injured are Mohammad Bux, Abdul Rehman, Khan Mohammad and Khair Mohammad Brohi - were admitted to the Civil Hospital, Shikarpur.
