UNITED NATIONS, April 18: The UN Secretary-General on Monday welcomed the joint declaration by India and Pakistan wherein both countries stated that “the dialogue had become “irreversible”. In a statement issued here, Mr Annan said he supported the efforts by the two countries to advance the ongoing dialogue.

“He welcomes the joint statement issued by the leaders which outlined additional confidence building measures aimed at achieving durable peace in the region”, the statement said.
