RIYADH, April 16: Saudi Arabia has warned Nigeria that its quota for Haj could be drastically cut, the BBC quoted a Nigerian minister as saying on Friday.

Some 27,000 Nigerians overstayed in Saudi Arabia illegally this year after the Haj. All of them had to be deported at a high cost to the exchequer.

This year some 65,000 Nigerians performed Haj.
