Lankan govt accused of violating law

COLOMBO, April 13: Human rights lawyers and civic action groups on Tuesday accused the government of setting a dangerous trend by pushing through general bills as urgent bills without giving the people a chance to scrutinize them. The lawyers further say that this denies the people an opportunity to petition the Supreme Court on any harmful consequences before such bills become law.
