KARACHI, March 31: The University of Karachi has declared the results of first professional (Part-A) MBBS annual examination, 2005, with a pass percentage of 86.55.

According to a KU notification, the top three positions in the merit list were secured by students of Jinnah Medical College. Anita Haroon d/o Haroon Rashid, Ali Afzal s/o Mohammad Afzal and Muniba Rehman d/o Badrur Rehman got first, second and third positions respectively.

As many as 119 students appeared in the exams, out of which 103 were declared successful. Result of one student was withheld for enrolment, added the notification.

BEd exams: The BEd (Morning/Evening) supplementary exams 2004 will commence from April 18.

This was announced by the spokesman of Karachi University on Thursday.

The candidates have been asked to contact their respective colleges for the admit cards as well as the examination programme.

exam forms: University of Karachi has announced on Thursday that the examination forms and fee of external candidates for MA/Double MA/ Improvement of Division (previous and final) annual exams 2004 would be accepted without late fee Rs1400 from April 4 to May 2.

Forms would be received with a late fee of Rs100 from May 3 to 9, with Rs200 late fee from May 10 to May 16, while with the late fee of Rs300, forms could be submitted from May 17 to May 23.

Those candidates who are appearing in MA (previous & final) both parts are allowed to pay the late fee only in one part and separate form will be filled for each previous and final of MA.

Besides, candidates who have appeared in supplementary exams 2003 the date for submission of their examinations form will be announced later.

The forms will be endorsed by the Examination External unit examinations counter at Silver Jubilee Gate No.1, while the forms and fee will be deposited in the NBP/UBL Bank counter after endorsement.

New director: KU vice-chancellor Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui has appointed Prof Dr Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Department of Microbiology as director admissions of the varsity from April 1.

Dr Shakeel Ahmed Khan will replace Director Admissions KU Dr Mohammad Ishaq, who retired on March 31.—PPI\APP
