ISLAMABAD, March 22: The government on Tuesday granted two oil exploration licences to the Pakistan Petroleum limited in Block No 2866-2 (Kalat) and 2568-15 (Tajpur), covering an area of 2482.14 and 112.36 square kilometres, respectively. The Kalat area lies in districts Kalat and Khuzdar of Balochistan province (Zone-11), whereas Tajpur area falls in Hyderabad district of Sindh province (Zone-III).
According to a Press release issued here on Tuesday by the PPL, the organization intended to make an investment of over $5.25 million in Kalat block. In Tajpur block, the PPL will invest $10.21 million on the exploration activities.
