Bookmaker expects Rs2.5bn business

BANGALORE, March 22: A top Indian bookmaker was on Tuesday reported as saying that a business of Rs 250 crore (2.5 billion) was expected to be done during the third Test against Pakistan starting on Thursday.

The Times of India in its Tuesday’s edition quoted the bookie, whom it did not name, as saying” India can easily force a win but we just can’t afford to offer bigger odds on a draw. India may close shop and play it safe if things don’t fall into place on the opening tow days.”

The bookies have quoted a Pakistan win at 5/1 and made India the favourites at even money, the paper said. The bookmakers are of the view that the current touring squad does not have the temperament or the skill to succeed.
