KOLKATA, March 20: President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) categorically stated on Sunday that the sixth and final One-day International will be played in New Delhi, refuting reports that it might be shifted to another venue. “The ground reality is that the match will be played in Delhi on schedule,” Ranbir Singh Mahendra said at the Eden Gardens where the second Test between Pakistan and India ended on Sunday.

The Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi is undergoing renovation and there were fears that the stadium might not be ready on time. The match has assumed more significance because of President Gen Pervez Musharraf who will be coming over to watch the match.

“Our Grounds and Wicket Committee is going to inspect the venue shortly and the match will be played there,” Ranbir said.

The One-day series begins on April 2 with the first match at Cochin. The Delhi One-dayer is pencilled in for April 17.
