KARACHI, March 16: Eight ships carrying sugar and to load rice are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, APL Orchid Sinar Bontang, Kota Teraju to unload and load containers, Dubai Faith, to offload coal and Al-Hussaini to load cement, were berthed after the departure of two vessels. The ships which departed included Tai He and Jen Clipper, while Thor Captain, Kota Teraju, APL Cairo, Hyundai Stride, Hero-1 and Malakand are due to sail out on Thursday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was brisk where a total tonnage of 92,905 tons comprising 43,955 tons of export cargo including 7,422 tons of rice and 1,680 tons of cement and import tonnage of 48,950 tons was handled.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Shalamar, Lalazar, with crude oil, Golden Express, PONL Mahe, Y.M.Faha, with containers, Antares, to load 6,500 tons of rice, Tawe, with 37,700 tons of white sugar and NAL, with 40,000 tons of coal.
