Tremor jolts Quetta

QUETTA, March 2: The city and adjoining areas were jolted by a quake of moderate intensity on Wednesday afternoon. However, no causality or damage was reported.

The tremor was felt in Quetta valley and other areas at 4.12pm and a large number of people came out of their houses and offices in panic, despite heavy rain.

"It was a moderate quake and was felt only in Quetta valley," an official of the meteorological office said. The intensity of the quake was 5.0 on the Richter scale. The epicentre of the quake was some 500 km south west of Peshawar, near Quetta.
