ISLAMABAD, Feb 23: The National Tariff Commission (NTC) has imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty of 40.18 per cent against a South Korean firm and 31.06 per cent on an Iranian firm ad valorem of cost and freight price on import of PVC resin for a period of five years.

According to an NTC announcement issued here on Wednesday, the duty would be effective from October 26, 2004 on PVC resin (suspension grade), imported form LG International Corporation, South Korea, and Iran Petrochemical Commercial.

The NTC has earlier imposed the provisional duty against these two companies on October 26, 2004. The case of anti-dumping duty was initiated on an application filed with the NTC by Engro Asahi Polymer and Chemicals, a domestic producer of PVC resin on behalf of the domestic industry.
