LAHORE, Feb 18: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has ordered re-selection of its under-13 team through open trials to be held here at Punjab stadium on Feb 21.

President, PFF, Faisal Saleh Hayat and secretary Arshad Khan Lodhi took the decision after a meeting on Friday when told that most of the players recently picked from the national under-13 championship were over-aged.

PFF has already announced names of thirty three players picked up for attending a training camp to prepare the team for the Asian under-13 championship being held in Bangladesh in April.

"One of the reasons for re-selection of the players is small number of players attending the training camp. We did'nt have enough choice for naming our final squad," said a spokesman of the PFF here.

He said the trials will continue for eight days ending on Feb 28, adding that high ups of PFF are confident that they would identify a fresh pool of talented players of right age.

"This decision has been taken in the larger interest of the game to encourage talent at grass roots level and to have a wide range of selection on specialised position," he added. -APP
