MIRPURKHAS: Three killed in accident

MIRPURKHAS, Feb 18: Three people were killed and two others were injured in an accident near Umerkot on the Ratnor-Umerkot road on Thursday.

A tractor-trolley loaded with cement bags and iron was on its way to Sobaro Shah village when it went out of control of the driver and overturned. As a result, Maqbool Shah, 16, son of Ali Bux Shah, Mir Ali Shah, 40, son of Ismail Shah, and Gul Mohammad Rind, 30, were killed. The injured - Lachhman Meghwar and Nazar Mohammad Shah - were admitted to the Civil Hospital. The bodies were taken to the Taluka Hospital for autopsy.

INQUIRY: The regional police officer, Mr Bachal Sangri, has ordered an inquiry into the registration of case against Hyderabad-based cell phone seller Mohammad Israr by the Town police and appointed TPO city Zafar Iqbal as an inquiry officer.

HEALTH FACILITIES: Sindh Health Secretary Noshad Ahmed Shaikh has said that the government is taking effective measures for providing basic health facilities to people by upgrading hospitals and appointment of doctors and staff. According to a handout, he visited the Umerkot taluka hospital and directed doctors and staff to attend their duties properly.
