Afridi sets new world mark with 190 sixes

KARACHI, Feb 4: Pakistan's all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi on Friday set another world mark in One-day International (ODIs) history when he hit his 190th six during his 26 runs cameo against Australia in the first of tri-series best of three finals.

Afridi, surpassed the record of Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka. Former Sri Lankan captain achieved the feat in 325 ODIs innings while Afridi achieved the mark in 189th innings.

Afridi, who got the world focus and attention as teenager in 1996 when he blasted fastest ODI hundred against Sri Lanka at Nairobi by scoring a century of mere 37 balls. Out of top ten most six, hitting batsmen in the world, besides Afridi, Pakistan skipper Inzamamul Haq and former captain Wasim Akram are among the list.
