PESHAWAR, Feb 2: Two persons were killed in different incidents in the city, while police in a four-day operation against outlaws arrested 25 proclaimed offenders and recovered arms and ammunitions from their possession , police officials said on Wednesday.
Izza, wife of Shakeel, a resident of Madina colony, told Faqirabad police that she got married about nine months ago but left her husband's home last month following differences with him on some matters.
On Tuesday night, she was watching television along with other family members when she heard the sound of shooting in the drawing room. She went there and saw her maternal uncle Musharraf's body with bullet wounds.
She nominated five persons in an FIR. They are: her husband Shakeel, father-in-law Shafi, Saeed, Qamar Zaman and Awal Mohammad. The police have started search for the accused.
In another incident, a bullet-riddled body of a 25-year-old proclaimed offender was found in Ghari Akhund Ahmad locality of Pishtakhara on Wednesday morning. The police said Shoab, a resident of Hazarkhwani, was wanted in a case. They said the proclaimed offender was killed by his rivals.
Meanwhile, the Capital City Police have arrested 25 POs and recovered a large number of arms, ammunition and narcotics from their possession during the four-day operation against the outlaws from different localities.
The police recovered eight Kalashnikovs, two Kalakovs, 10 riffles, 35 pistols and 800 cartridges of various bore weapons. The police also seized 25kg of hashish from the possessions of the POs.
