TORONTO, Jan 31: Former British Open champion Justin Leonard fired a final round five-under 67 to win the $4.7 million Bob Hope Classic in California on Sunday, ending a two year title drought with a three stoke win over Joe Ogilvie and Tim Clark.

Leonard, without a PGA Tour win since the 2003 Honda Classic, played a poised final round on the La Quinta, California PGA West course to finish the 90-hole event at 28-under-par 332.

Ogilvie, who had topped the leader board since the opening round and began the day with a two stroke advantage, faltered down the stretch carding a one-over 73 for 25-under 335. Clark closed with a final round three-under 69 to grab a share of second.

Champion Phil Mickelson, had looked in contention by going three under through the first nine but a bogey, double-bogey at 12 and 13 sent him tumbling down the leader board finishing one-under 71, seven shots off the lead with 339.
