BADIN, Jan 31: Youth from rural areas have expressed their concern over an inordinate delay in announcement of successful candidates appeared in interviews held for the posts of supervisors by the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL).

They told this correspondent that candidates from urban and rural areas had appeared in interviews some three months back but results of candidates from Sindh rural had withheld without any reason.

They alleged that bias attitude meted out to deserving candidates from rural areas was not only pushing the people of Sindh to wall but causing unrest. They demanded that the prime minister and Sindh chief minister should hold an impartial inquiry into favouritism and bias against candidates from rural Sindh. They demanded that deserving candidates who appeared in the tests and interviews three months back should be given jobs.

MINISTER: Sindh Minister for Population Welfare Syed Ali Bux Shah has said that Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has constituted a six-member ministerial committee to monitor all development schemes in Sindh.

The committee included Nadir Leghari, Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi and Syed Ali Bux Shah. Talking to villagers in the Hakeemani Shah near Dando on Sunday, the minister said the government was committed to provide basic facilities to the people.

He said that time had come to make collective efforts for prosperity of Sindh irrespective of caste, creed and personal interests. Mr Shah said that vacant posts in various departments including irrigation would soon be notified in newspapers and candidates would be appointed on merit.

He reiterated the fishermen of coastal area would get fishing rights soon. He said their cause could be jeopardized if they played in the hands of politicians.
