SAHIWAL, Jan 18: The Multan Electric Power Company has issued disconnection notices to 11 government offices for the recovery of default amount worth Rs20 million.

The defaulters are district Nazim, tehsil Nazim, district police officer, EDOs of education, health, works and services departments, LBDC canal XEN, DHQ hospital medical superintendent, and some police stations.

The notice said in case the bills were not paid by Jan 19 (today), the connection of water supply, sewerage, tube-wells and streetlights would be severed.

HOUSE LOOTED: Four bandits looted a house here on Tuesday morning in Sindhi Mohallah. Reports said the dacoits entered the house of goldsmith Naveed at 8:30am, held the family members hostage and took away cash, and gold ornaments worth Rs130,000.

HELD: Police on Monday night arrested four outlaws and recovered arms from their possession in Chak 96/6-R. On a tip-off, the police raided the kiln of former district council member Tahir Niaz in Chak 96/6-R, arrested Bashar alias Sharif, Qasim, Talib Hussain, Falak Sher and recovered illicit weapons.
