Hawks fly high on Shoaib's 6-wkt haul

LAHORE, Jan 13: A six-wicket haul by Shoaib Leghari enabled Hyderabad Hawks (HH) to cruise into semi finals of the One-day cricket cup as pool "B" leaders with 12 points, beating Multan Tigers (MT) by five wickets at Hyderabad on Thursday.

Shoaib sent down eight overs, including one maiden and conceded 46 runs to take six wickets, but even then MT piled up 241 in 45 overs, due to fine batting by Asif Iqbal (74, four fours, 102 balls) and Aamer Bashir (58, five fours, one six, 69 balls).

HH overhauled the target scoring 244 for five in 44.2 overs. Faisal Athar (54, five fours, 67 balls), Shahid Qambrani (46, four fours, 51 balls) and Rizwan Ahmed (46 not out, one four one six, 39 balls) were the chief contributors. Rizwan (HH) was declared Man-of-the-Match.
