MIRPURKHAS: Two die in accident

MIRPURKHAS, Dec 27: Two persons, one of them an army lance naik, were killed and four pedestrians were injured when a speedy pick-up collided head-on with another pick-up on the Umerkot-Chore road near Umerkot on Sunday.

Those killed were identified as lance naik Mohammad Ajaib, resident of Jhelum, and Gomomal Kolhi. The injured, whose names could not be ascertained, were admitted to a hospital in Chore. The bodies were taken to the Umerkot Civil Hospital from where the body of Ajaib was despatched to Jhelum.

KILLED: A landlord was shot dead and his brother was injured by some unidentified persons in the Sultan Mahar village, Jhuddo police station jurisdiction, on Sunday.

Ameer Hassan Mahar was killed. The injured, Sultan Mahar, was taken to a hospital in Jhuddo. The motive behind the incident is said to be an old land dispute between Mahar and Awan tribesmen. However, no case was registered till the filing of this report.
