KARACHI, Dec 15: Wicket-keeper Adnan Akmal equalled his brother Kamran Akmal and Wasim Bari's national record of seven catches for Lahore Blues (LB) on the opening day of the Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Trophy match against Karachi Blues (KB) at the National Stadium on Wednesday.

On the day when 18 wickets tumbled Adnan achieved the landmark with a fine keeping. Sent to bat first, Sajid Ali and Wasim Khan, bundled out Karachi Blues for 104. Left-arm medium pacer Sajid took five wickets for 46 runs and Wasim snapped up four for 33.

At the cloes of play, Lahore Blues in reply were also in trouble at 99 for eight. KB made a disastrous start as they slumped to 11 for four wickets. Sajid was destroyer taking three wickets in 12 balls. Tariq Haroon triggered the collapse of Lahore Blues with three wickets for ten runs in 11 overs with seven maidens.
