Australia unchanged for Pakistan Test

MELBOURNE, Dec 10: Australia named an unchanged squad of 12 on Friday for next week's first Test against Pakistan on the fast and bouncy Perth pitch in Western Australia.

Selectors did not name a standby player for opening batsman Matthew Hayden, who was ruled out of Friday's third and deciding Chappell-Hadlee Trophy limited-overs match against New Zealand in Brisbane with a hamstring strain.

Australia thrashed New Zealand by an innings and 156 runs in Brisbane and 213 runs in Adelaide in their two-Test series last month. Brett Lee was 12th man for both Tests but is expected to be strongly considered for the Perth match.

Pakistan were bowled out for 262 on Thursday on the opening day of their four-day tour match against Western Australia in Perth, where the first Test starts on Dec 16.
