SIALKOT: Subsidized flour sale begins

SIALKOT, Dec 8: The sale of subsidized flour under the provincial government's special relief programme began in the district here on Wednesday. District Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid and DCO Tahir Raza Naqvi inspected the process at various sale points.

Later talking to newsmen, the Nazim said the district government had set up 29 sale points where more than 206,440 bags weighing 10kg would be sold among the 13,000 poor and deserving families by April 30, 2005 at a rate of Rs90.

He said the provincial government would give a subsidy of Rs5.2 million to flour mills in the district in this regard. Mr Javaid said all the mills had been strictly directed to ensure the quality and standard of subsidized flour among the poor.
